Mt. Makalu is the world’s fifth highest peak. Only a few hundred trekkers and the occasional expedition visit this mountain each year. Makalu region is very close to the Everest region. It is known as Arun Valley. The Arun Valley is an unimaginable area and it is famous for both the culture and nature. This area is a naturalist’s paradise and it is teeming with many precious plants, animals and birds and is a significant part of the Himalayan environment and ecosystem.
Mustang, formerly part of Tibet, is an enclave in the Nepalese territory. This country was opened to treks only since 1992. It is situated 50 kms behind the massifs of Annapurnas and Dhaulagiris, this legendary and secret country, comprises of vast stretches of water and of yellow and grey rocks, of cave-dwellers in the red cliffs, of immense canyons where sometime blow the violent winds and the surprisingly fortified capital of Lho Manthang. This little kingdom of Tibetan culture possesses several active monasteries that still enclose the treasures of Buddhis.
Gosaikunda region is easily accessible from Kathmandu. Each area in itself is a good choice for those with limited time. It offers many features that range from culture to adventure. In a week to ten days, any one can visit one of these areas by crossing high mountain passes. A three-week trip could cover all the three areas. The Himalayan views overall are not quite as spectacular as in the Annapurna or Khumbu region, but they remain unforgettably beautiful plus the trails are less crowded and the people are friendly and interesting.
Jomsom Muktinath Trekking is a trekking in north of Pokhara. Each day’s walk gives a different experience and makes the area the most popular destination in the country. It is a part of the Annapurna circuit and perhaps the single most popular trek in Nepal. The trek offers marvelous views of deep valleys and high mountains encircling the giant Annapurna Himal. The Annapurna Circuit is the popular trek in Nepal around the Annapurna mountain range in the Himalayas. The trek reaches an altitude of 5416 metres. The magnificent mountain scenery, seen at close quarters includes Annapurna 8,091 m, Dhauligiri 8,167 m and Machhupuchhare 6,993 metres, considered by many to be the most beautiful mountain in the world.
Annapurna Base Camp trek can be done in about 8 to 14 days (depend on your walking pace). The Annapurna Base Camp trek leads to a natural amphitheater that is used as the base camp from which climbers start on their way to conquer the Annapurna Mountain top. The mountain reaches 8091 meters above sea level, and the base camp’s altitude is 4130 meters above sea level.
The trek is not easy, and the adjustment to high altitudes may be difficult, and altitude sickness is very common. On the other hand, anyone with a reasonable level of physical fitness can walk the trek.
The trek to Ghorepani - Poon Hill which is located in Annapurna region, is truly called as all the best of the trekking in Nepal. The highest point of this trek is 3210 m and for many the highlight is an early morning pilgrimage to Poon Hill for a spectacular sunrise over the Himalayas, where the mountains stretch as far as the eye can see North towards Tibet West towards the Dhaulagiri Himal and East with superb views of the Annapurna Himal.

This trek is also known as Everest Circuit trek. The trek is one of the most adventurous treks in the Everest Himalayas. It follows the route via high pass of Cho La at 5330meters into the Base Camp of Mount Everest. The trail to Gokyo is a gradual ascent up the valley passing through patches of birch and rhododendron forest where the elusive musk deer can sometimes be seen.
Gokyo lake trek is a high-altitude trek to a valley east of Everest base camp. The trek starts from Lukla which is the main gateway to access the Everest & main other high mountain peaks. Trekking around Gokyo valley is considered a traditional trek that offers magnificent views of the mountain peaks and the Ngozumpa Glacier. The image of this region is associated with the soaring views of the most popular mountains in Nepal, at an altitude of 8000m such as Cho Oyu, Everest, Lhotse and Makalu which are clearly visible from Gokyo Ri above Gokyo Lake.
