Tilicho Peak is a mountain in Nepal Himalaya, near Annapurna. The peak was discovered in 1950 by the team led by Maurice Herzog who were attempting to find Annapurna I. The mountain is little bit hard to climb comparing to other 7000 m peaks. The first ascent was made in 1979 by the French climber Emanuel Schmutz using the northwest shoulder.
The base camp is located near Tilicho Lake at the altitude of 4800m high. Normally climbing expedition starts from Base camp. Camp 1 is at altitude of 5800m where it is a long way distance through the ridges of the mountain.
Camp 2 is located approximately at height of 6200m and path is more difficult. Its elevation is about 40 degree so using of fix ropes is necessary.
From camp 2, the way directly goes to the summit of Tilicho peak. The elevation is about 60 degree’s slop. So climbing is more tough and challenging. Some time there is also danger of avalanches, so careful climb will surely make the climb successful.
